Terms of service.
These terms govern your use of Reciptap (“the product”, “we”, “us”), operated by fifty2 FZ-LLC, a company registered in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). By signing up for a Reciptap account you agree to these terms.
1. The product
Reciptap is a hardware device (the tile) plus a cloud service (the merchant dashboard) that issues digital receipts and tracks loyalty stamps on behalf of UAE merchants. The cloud service is provided on a subscription basis; the tile is loaned to you for the duration of your subscription.
2. Pricing and billing
The subscription is AED 200 per location per month, or AED 2,000 per location per year. Prices exclude VAT, which is charged at the UAE rate (5%). We bill monthly in advance for the monthly plan, and annually in advance for the annual plan. The first 30 days are free — if you cancel within that window, you pay nothing and mail the tile back with our prepaid label.
3. The tile
The tile remains the property of Reciptap throughout your subscription. You are responsible for keeping it in good condition — ordinary wear and tear is expected and not a problem. If you cancel, you ship the tile back within 14 days using the prepaid return label we provide.
If the tile fails for any reason in the first two years of normal use, we replace it at no cost. After two years we charge AED 150 for a replacement, which covers manufacturing.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the product to: (a) issue fraudulent receipts; (b) tamper with the tile’s firmware or attempt to extract customer data outside of the exports we provide; (c) misrepresent the merchant or business behind the tile.
5. Customer data
Reciptap processes customer data on your behalf as a processor under UAE PDPL (Federal Decree-Law 45/2021). You remain the controller. See our privacy policy for the full breakdown.
6. Service availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime of the cloud service. The tile itself caches receipts on-device when WiFi is unavailable and syncs them when the network returns — so customer receipts are delivered even when the cloud isn’t reachable. We are not liable for revenue lost during downtime that exceeds the SLA.
7. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from the merchant dashboard. The subscription runs until the end of the current billing period; we don’t pro-rate refunds for partial months. We’ll email you the prepaid return label for the tile within one business day.
8. Liability
Our liability for any claim arising out of this agreement is capped at the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the UAE. Disputes are resolved in the courts of the DMCC.
10. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
